Bellingham Washington, overshadowed by Mount Baker

I was born in Bellingham Washington and I call it my home today. Here it is seen from an airplane.  A friend of mine took this picture. Its seacoast lies on the Puget  Sound and Lake Whatcom is just  behind it.  Mount Baker is, as I  recall, 13,000 feet and is covered  with ice year around.  It hosts a ski  resort.
The natives called it  Koma Kulshan which means  'Mountain that Smokes.'  So one may surmise that in the memory of  the natives it was once an active  volcano.  It vents some steam now and then which causes concern    because if it were to erupt, the ice  runoff would flood the Nooksack  river, which runs just a little north of Bellingham, and would cause considerable damage.
Bellingham lies on the I5 corridor abouit 90 miles north of Seattle and 20 miles south of Canada. I have numerous Canadian friends.
